Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a Contract with Parks Ford HV, LLC, for the Purchase of Seven Ford Maverick Hybrids for $197,875 From the Fleet Replacement Fund

LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, with the adoption of the FY24 Fleet Replacement Budget, City Council authorized the purchase/replacement of seven (7) Parks Department vehicles for a total cost of $197,875; and,
WHEREAS, N.C.G.S. §143-129(e)(3) provides an exception to the procedures for letting public contracts for purchases made through a competitive bidding group acquisition program, which is a formally organized program that offers competitively obtained purchasing services at discount prices; and,
WHEREAS, the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association conducted a full and open competitive solicitation for this equipment and awarded the contract to Parks Ford HV, LLC.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the procurement of the equipment pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-129(e)(3) is authorized and appropriate.
THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract to purchase, and to execute any agreements required to do so, seven (7) Parks Department vehicles from Parks Ford HV, LLC, for the total amount of $197,875 from the Fleet Replacement Fund.
