Resolution Amending the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board By-Laws to Reflect Various Clean-up Items Related to Department Names, Titles, and Adding a Mission Statement

LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board By-Laws were established by Council Resolution on March 2, 1999; and,
WHEREAS, in June of 2023 the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board formed a by-laws ad-hoc committee to review and recommend updates to the language; and,
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board reviewed and supported the proposed changes at the August 2023 regular meeting; and,
WHEREAS, the Council’s Appointments Committee for Boards and Commissions recommended approval of the updates in the May 6, 2024, meeting; and,
WHEREAS, this resolution requests that the City Council approve the amended by-laws for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board By-Laws are hereby amended and adopted as presented.
