LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization/City of Wilmington are renovating the building at 525 North 4th Street for the WMPO’s dedicated office space. The estimated completion date is mid-July 2024.
HDR Inc. completed the design for the building renovation and rehabilitation. HDR has performed construction administration services on the project since the construction award. The City entered into an initial contract with HDR for construction administration services in the amount of $86,896.84. The City entered into supplemental agreements with HDR for additional services for Contract Amendment #1 in the amount of $136,279; Contract Amendment #2 in the amount of $218,500; and Contract Amendment #3 in the amount of $58,000.
This supplemental agreement in the amount of $75,000 will extend the contract administration services to July 31, 2024. The scope of services for this supplemental agreement includes construction administration, project close out, and HDR subcontractor requirements.
This contract amendment requires City Council approval as it exceeds the City Manager’s approval authority. Sufficient funding for this supplemental agreement exists in the Wilmington Multi-modal Transportation Center Phase 1B project.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the Wilmington City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract amendment in an amount not to exceed $75,000 with HDR, Inc for construction administration services for the building renovation at 525 North 4th street (Wilmington Multi-modal Transportation Center Phase 1B).
