LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, the Wilmington Police Department (“WPD”) is seeking to replace the manual/paper system for tracking and locating keys to vehicles and the buildings with a cloud-based key management system from Keycafe, Inc. in the amount of $19,308; and,
WHEREAS, the WPD is also requesting a technology upgrade for three (3) camera towers from Cradlepoint, Inc., in the amount of $8,000; and,
WHEREAS, the funds for these expenditures were not included in the FY25 budget, nor are any grant funds available to cover the cost of these expenses, but funding is available through NC Drug Tax Revenue.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED:
THAT, the following appropriation of $27,308 for a new key tracking system to Keycafe, Inc., and for technology upgrades to three (3) camera towers from Cradlepoint, Inc., for the WPD, funded by NC Drug Tax Revenue, is appropriate.
THAT, the following revenue is available to meet this appropriation.
