Body

LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:

This resolution authorizes the three-year contract with Evidence IQ for the purchase of Ballistics IQ equipment and software for gunfire discharge identification. The current agreement ends August 26, 2024. The total estimated amount of the contract for the Ballistics IQ is $307,497. Sufficient funding has been budgeted for FY 25 in the amount of $102,499. Cost for the subsequent years is subject to annual budget appropriation and are estimated at $102,499 for both FY 26 and FY 27. Those amounts are contingent upon approval of the annual budget.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

THAT, the contract with Evidence IQ pursuant to N.C.G.S §143-129(e)(6) is authorized and appropriate because standardization and compatibility with the equipment is the overriding consideration.

THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute a three (3) year contract with Evidence IQ in an amount up to $307,497 for the purchase of the Ballistics IQ equipment and software for Police Headquarters.

THAT, the subsequent years’ budgets are subject to annual appropriations.
