Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter Into an Agreement to Purchase Two (2) 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Work Trucks from Modern Chevrolet, LLC of Winston Salem, NC for $102,656 through the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association Purchasing Cooperative

LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, with the adoption of the FY25 City of Wilmington budget, the Wilmington City Council authorized the purchase/replacement of two (2) fire vehicles as part of a Light Fleet Vehicle Replacement enhancement within the Fire Department; and,
WHEREAS, N.C.G.S. §143-129(e)(3) provides for an exception to the procedures for letting public contracts if purchases are made through a competitive bidding group procurement program, which is a formally organized program that offers competitively obtained purchasing services at discount prices; and,
WHEREAS, the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association (“NCSA”) Purchasing Cooperative conducted a full and open competitive solicitation for this equipment, and awarded the contract to Modern Chevrolet, LLC of Winston Salem, NC (“Modern”); and,
WHEREAS, Modern has two (2) 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Work Trucks available under the provisions of the NCSA Purchasing Cooperative.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute a contract with Modern Chevrolet, LLC of Winston Salem, NC for an amount up to $102,656 for the purchase of two (2) 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Work Trucks through the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association (“NCSA”) Purchasing Cooperative.
