Resolution Authorizing the Award of a Construction Contract in the Amount of $1,220,484 to S&C Construction, LLC for the Masonboro Road Loop Trail Phase II Project (2TRST1594)

LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, this resolution authorizes the award of a construction contract for the Masonboro Loop Road Trail Phase II Project, in the amount of $1,220,843.95 to S&C Construction LLC, of Wilmington, NC, which was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder; and,
WHEREAS, this multi-use path project is part of the City’s Transportation Bond program, and will connect several residential neighborhoods, provide safe walking and biking access to commercial centers, and provide improved walking and biking access to Masonboro Elementary School.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, a construction contract is hereby awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, S&C Construction, LLC, of Wilmington, NC, in the amount of $1,220,484 for the Masonboro Loop Road Trail Phase II Project (2TRST1594), pending approval of the companion ordinance, and concurrence with award by the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
