Ordinance Making Supplemental Appropriation to the Public Improvement Fund JAG Equipment 2023 WILM/NHC Grant in the Amount of $13,552 for the Purchase of Stationary Cameras

LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, the City of Wilmington, along with New Hanover County, was awarded a grant from the US Department of Justice, Justice Assistance Grant (“JAG”) program in the amount of $80,419; and,
WHEREAS. this ordinance is to appropriate the New Hanover County portion of the award in the amount of $13,552, to be used to purchase Stationary Flock Cameras; and
WHEREAS, these cameras will be utilized to enhance safety at New Hanover County parks by placing cameras in strategic locations to be monitored by law enforcement, thereby providing tools to better investigate, arrest, and prosecute perpetrators and discourage recurrence of crimes.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED:
THAT, the following appropriation is hereby made to the Public Improvements/ Equipment Fund for the purchase of stationary cameras, and the following revenue is available to meet this appropriation:
