LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, the City has identified generator equipment at multiple locations which are in need of replacement to avoid equipment failure; and,
WHEREAS, the Fire Station Headquarters and Fire Station No.7 locations were prioritized by the City for generator replacement; and,
WHEREAS, the City received two (2) bids to replace the generators at these locations, with the lowest bidder being Lancaster Electric Company, LLC (“Lancaster”), in the amount of $695,014; and,
WHEREAS, funding for this project is available in the City’s Generator Replacement Study Capital Project fund; and,
WHEREAS, staff recommends the award of the contract for generator replacement at Fire Station Headquarters and Fire Station No. 7 to Lancaster, the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Lancaster Electric Company, LLC, of Wilmington, NC, in the amount of $695,014, for generator replacement at Fire Station Headquarters and Fire Station No.7.
THAT, funding is available for this expenditure.
