Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Contract with the Gordian Group, Inc., of Greenville, SC, for Phase II of a Facility Condition Assessment in the Amount of $147,267 [Budget Impact - Public Works Capital Building & Maintenance Fund and Parks & Recreation Capital Project Fund]

LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, the City completed Phase I of a Facility Condition Assessment (“FCA”) in 2022, and aims to complete Phase II of the FCA in order to assess the remaining City-owned facilities and assets managed by the Parks & Recreation department; and,
WHEREAS, the City completed Phase I of the FCA in 2022 with the Gordian Group, Inc., of Greenville, SC (“Gordian”), which covered approximately half of the seventy (70) City-owned facilities that are maintained by the Public Works department; and,
WHEREAS, Phase II of the FCA will assess the remaining City-owned facilities, as well as over forty (40) assets/locations managed by the Parks & Recreation department, including parks and trails; and,
WHEREAS, the cost for the Public Works portion of the FCA is $82,044, and the cost for the Parks & Recreation portion of the FCA is $65,223, with funding available from the Public Works Capital Building & Maintenance Fund, and the Parks & Recreation Capital Project Fund; and,
WHEREAS, staff recommends the award of the contract to Gordian to complete Phase II of the FCA; and,
WHEREAS, the contract will allow the City to utilize a Facility Condition Index (“FCI”) for long term asset maintenance and replacement planning.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with the Gordian Group, Inc., of Greenville, SC, in the amount of $147,267 for Phase II of a Facility Condition Assessment.
