Resolution Establishing the 2025 Schedule of Council Meetings

LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, Section 3.10 of the Wilmington City Charter states that Council will fix suitable times for its regular meetings; and,
WHEREAS, City Council desires to establish that regular meetings will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, Council Chambers, 102 North 3rd Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, unless otherwise indicated or provided by Council.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the City of Wilmington City Council hereby establishes the following schedule of regular meetings for 2025:
January 7, 2025
May 6, 2025
September 23, 2025
January 21, 2025
May 20, 2025
October 7, 2025
February 4, 2025
June 3, 2025
October 21, 2025
February 18, 2025
June 17, 2025
November 5, 2025 (Wednesday)
March 4, 2025
July 15, 2025
November 18, 2025
March 18, 2025
August 5, 2025
December 2, 2025
April 1, 2025
August 19, 2025
April 15, 2025
September 9, 2025
THAT, Agenda Briefings are scheduled on Mondays at 8:30 A.M. immediately prior to the above regular Council meetings, except the Agenda Briefing immediately preceding the January 21, 2025, Council meeting, which will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 8:30 A.M.
THAT, Agenda Briefings, the primary purpose of which is to determine if City Council members need additional information on items to be considered at the immediately following Council meeting, will be held at City Hall, Council Chambers, 102 North 3rd Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, until further notice.
THAT, work sessions on various topics will be held the first Monday of each month following the Agenda Briefing, beginning Monday, January 6, 2025.
THAT, City Council budget work sessions are tentatively scheduled for January 31, 2025, March 28, 2025, May 16, 2025, and May 30, 2025.
THAT, a City Council retreat is tentatively scheduled for November 21, 2025.
