LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, with the adoption of the FY25 Fleet Replacement Budget, City Council authorized the purchase and replacement of twenty-two (22) pursuit-rated Chevrolet Tahoes for the Wilmington Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, N.C.G.S. §143-129(e)(9) provides an exception to the procedures for letting of public contracts for purchases made through a contract established by the State or a state agency, if the contractor is willing to extend the same or more favorable prices, terms, and conditions; and,
WHEREAS, the North Carolina State Contract was awarded to Capital Chevrolet, Inc., of Raleigh, North Carolina, which has extended the same prices and terms to the City of Wilmington; and,
WHEREAS, the total cost of the twenty-two (22) vehicles is $1,166,154.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase and execute any necessary contracts to obtain twenty-two (22) pursuit-rated Chevrolet Tahoes for the Wilmington Police Department from Capital Chevrolet, Inc., of Raleigh, NC, in the Amount of $1,166,154 from the FY25 Fleet Replacement Budget.
