LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, with the adoption of the FY25 Fleet Replacement Budget, Wilmington City Council authorized the purchase/replacement of (2) Quad Axle Dump Trucks for the Streets Department; and,
WHEREAS, N.C.G.S. §143-129(e)(3) provides an exception to the procedures for letting public contracts for purchases made through a competitive bidding group acquisition program, which is a formally organized program that offers competitively obtained purchasing services at discount prices; and,
WHEREAS, the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association conducted a full and open competitive solicitation for this equipment, and awarded the contract to Velocity Truck Centers LLC, of Wilmington, NC, in the amount $339,796.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase and execute any necessary contracts to replace two (2) Quad Axle Dump Trucks from Velocity Truck Centers LLC, of Wilmington, NC, for $339,796.
