PURPOSE:
The purpose of this ordinance is to consolidate available funding into the Parks and Recreation Capital Projects Fund to award an Annual Needs Contract for Riverwalk decking replacement, and to appropriate funding from the Public Improvements Capital Projects Fund to the General Fund for ongoing Riverwalk amenity replacement.
BACKGROUND:
There is existing funding for Riverwalk maintenance in both the Parks and Recreation Capital Maintenance Fund ($294,218) and in the Public Improvements Capital Projects Fund ($225,000). This ordinance consolidates the available funding into the Parks and Recreation Capital Maintenance Fund by moving $225,000 from the Public Improvements Capital Projects Fund. $195,000 of the Public Improvements Fund will go toward the award of a contract for a multi-year Annual Needs Contract for ongoing decking replacement on the Riverwalk, and $30,000 will be invested in Riverwalk amenity ongoing routine maintenance.
