PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the City Manager to enter into a construction contract with Evan and Sons Construction Co., Inc. ("Evans") for annual maintenance to the Riverwalk

BACKGROUND:
The Riverwalk Maintenance Program is a preventative maintenance program to ensure the Riverwalk is a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing public amenity. Funding is allocated in the Capital Improvement Program dedicating $225,000 annually to Riverwalk Maintenance. This is an annual contract with the option for two (2) one-year extensions. Future years' requirements of the contract are included in the recommended 5-year CIP but are subject to annual appropriation.

This project was vetted through the competitive bidding process with bids closing on November 21, 2024. Bidders were required to provide a unit cost for wooden decking replacement. Two bids were received with the lowest bid being $15.00 per square foot. The funding goal is to develop annual spending plans that exhaust the authorized amount appropriated per year, but still ensure funding remains to manage Riverwalk emergencies throughout the year.
