PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is for City Council to formally adopt and authorize the City of Wilmington’s 2025 State and Federal Legislative Agenda.
BACKGROUND:
The Wilmington City Council recognizes the importance of a productive collaboration with our State and Federal delegation in achieving results in the areas that they deem most critical to the community.
As we approach the upcoming 2025 session of the North Carolina General Assembly and year one of the 119th United States Congress, the City might anticipate any number of opportunities to identify and support initiatives that are strategic to the moment and represent an opportunity to improve the quality of life for its citizens and encourage investment in the region. As such, the City will keep its agenda focused on broad areas, but not restrict its ability to react and support objectives that may yield similar outcomes in partnership with others.
