PURPOSE:
The Applicant is requesting a Special Use Permit for a single-family Courtyard Development within the R-15 zoning district located at 5651 Greenville Loop Rd.
BACKGROUND:
This item was continued from the January 21, 2025, City Council meeting to allow the applicant time to complete the Design Adjustment Committee (“DAC”) process. Pursuant to §18-589(C)(4) of the Land Development Code (“LDC”), any special use permit that requires a quasi-judicial decision to be made by the Board of Adjustment, Historic Preservation Commission, or DAC must obtain approval of the request prior to being heard by the City Council. The DAC denied the preliminary plan and several of the requested waivers at their February 19, 2025, meeting.
The applicant has indicated that they will be redesigning the project, and the applicant has therefore requested that the public hearing on the Special Use Permit be continued to the June 17, 2025, City Council meeting to allow time for the redesign and additional consideration by the DAC, if needed.
