PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the City Manager to execute the North Carolina Land and Water Fund grant contract in the amount of up to $1,353,000 to support the Wisteria/Clearbrook Drainage Improvement Project.
BACKGROUND:
City staff reviewed grant opportunities available in the 2024 cycle to potentially supplement existing funding for the Wisteria/Clearbrook Drainage Improvement Project. After reviewing grant opportunities and the project with a consultant, staff determined that a competitive application could be submitted for the project for funding from the North Carolina Land and Water Fund restoration program. City Council authorized the submittal of the grant application on February 6th, 2024.
The City was notified on October 3rd, 2024, that the application was selected for funding (see page 5 of grant awards summary). This award will go towards supporting funding for the project’s constructions costs.
