PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the purchase/replacement of an aerial bucket lift truck, which was funded through the adoption of the FY25 Fleet Replacement Budget.
BACKGROUND:
N.C.G.S. §143-129(e)(3) provides an exception to the procedures for letting public contracts for purchases made through a competitive bidding group acquisition program, which is a formally organized program that offers competitively obtained purchasing services at discount prices. Sourcewell, a competitive bidding group, conducted a full and open competitive solicitation for this equipment and awarded the contract to Altec Industries, Inc., in the amount of $188,041.

BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for the equipment was approved with Fleet’s FY25 adopted budget.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of the resolution authorizing the City Manager to purchase, and to execute any agreements required, one (1) tracked aerial bucket lift truck from Altec Industries, Inc., for the total cost of $188,041, is recommended.
