PURPOSE:
Attached for your consideration is a resolution that establishes a public hearing on the requested voluntary annexation of three parcels of land totaling 8.265 acres, located at 904, 912, and 1000 N. Kerr Avenue.
BACKGROUND:
On April 1, 2025, Council passed a resolution directing the City Clerk to investigate this annexation petition. The petition complies with the North Carolina General Statutes and the City’s annexation policy.
Staff continues to evaluate land use and service impacts, and will present these findings at the public hearing. If this resolution is approved, the public hearing will be scheduled for the May 20, 2025, Council meeting. If not approved, the public hearing will not be scheduled, and the property will remain in the unincorporated portion of New Hanover County.
