PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to amend the membership requirements for the Municipal Services District (“MSD”) Advisory Committee, reducing the number of members from fourteen (14) to nine (9), and changing the requirements for certain membership slots.
BACKGROUND:
On January 17, 2017, the Wilmington City Council established a Downtown Municipal Services District (MSD) Advisory Committee. A fourteen (14) seat committee was created to represent various interests throughout the MSD. The fourteen (14) members on the board serve three (3) year staggered terms. The MSD Advisory Committee is now requesting to reduce the number of representatives from fourteen (14) to nine (9), and to revise the membership requirements for certain seats in order to attract participants within the MSD. This request has been approved for recommendation by Council’s Appointments Committee.
