PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the City Manager to purchase/replace three (3) backhoes for Public Works, as adopted in the FY25 Fleet Replacement Budget.
BACKGROUND:
N.C.G.S. §143-129(e)(9) provides an exception to the procedures for letting public contracts for purchases made through a contract established by the State or a state agency, if the contractor is willing to extend the same or more favorable prices, terms, and conditions. The North Carolina state contract was awarded to Gregory Poole Equipment Company, which has extended the same prices and terms to the City of Wilmington, which results in a total cost of $502,367.

Funding for the equipment was approved in Fleet’s FY25 adopted budget.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
Passage of the resolution to authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract for the replacement three (3) Backhoes from Gregory Poole Equipment Company for the total cost of $502,367 is recommended.
