PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the City Manager to purchase/replace three (3) landscape trucks and four (4) dump trucks for the Recreation Department, as adopted in the FY25 Fleet Replacement Budget.
BACKGROUND:
N.C.G.S. §143-129(e)(3) provides an exception to the procedures for letting public contracts for purchases made through a competitive bidding group acquisition program, which is a formally organized program that offers competitively obtained purchasing services at discount prices. The North Carolina Sheriff’s Association, a competitive bidding group, conducted a full and open competitive solicitation for this equipment and awarded the contract to Velocity Truck Centers LLC of Wilmington, NC.

Funding for the equipment was approved if Fleet’s FY25 adopted budget.
