Attachment #1: Wrightsville Avenue Appropriation Ordinance

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this ordinance is to appropriate $6,987,769 in excess funds from multiple projects in the Transportation Bond Program to the Wrightsville Avenue Sidewalks and Roundabout project ("Project"), 2TRST1566.

BACKGROUND:
The Project is part of the City's Transportation Bond program. Following a public bid, Chatham Civil Contracting, LLC was identified as the lowest responsible responsive bidder in the amount of $6,033,187.04. The appropriation of these various Transportation Bond program funds will reconcile the current project funding gap, and allow the award of the construction contract, along with providing an appropriate construction contingency.

This supplemental funding is available from the following completed Transportation Bond projects: Oleander Sidewalk - Wooster to Mimosa; McClelland Sidewalk Improvements; and the Roadway Contingency Fund. In addition, remaining funds in the Wrightsville Sidewalk - 44th to Independence and Wrightsville Sidewalk - College to Hawthorne Transportation Bond will be transferred to the overall Wrightsville Ave Sidewalks and Roundabout project. These three projects are in close geographic proximity to each other and were combined for the design and construction phases to expedite their respective project schedules and to realize potential savings through economies of scale.

budget
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for the Project is available through $575,482 from Interest Earnings, as well as from various additional Transportation Bond projects and their contingency funds.
