PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract in the amount of $294,887 for upgrades to the audio-visual systems at the Wilmington Convention Center.
BACKGROUND:
The Wilmington Convention Center opened in 2011. The audio-visual system utilized at the facility was installed by Strategic Connections, Inc. (“Strategic”), prior to the opening. This system has provided service for more than fourteen years. Many of the subsystems are now obsolete and no longer supported. This contract addresses three of the most vulnerable subsystems, which are currently failing at times and causing interruptions in day-to-day system usage, including audio amplification, audio processing, and system controls (touch panels-control brains, network switches).

BUDGET IMPACT:
The budget impact is $294,887. This purchase has been budgeted for, and funding is present within the Convention Center Fund.
