Attachment #1: Resolution - SHI GIS

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the renewal of hosting and managed services for the City’s cloud-based Geographic Information System (GIS), with SHI, International Corp., of Somerset, NJ, for up to three years.

BACKGROUND:

The City Council approved the cost of implementing the system in the last fiscal year. The platform has since been successfully deployed and integrated across multiple departments.

The GIS system continues to serve as a vital resource, supporting daily operations and long-term planning for departments such as Public Works, Planning, Engineering, and Public Safety. The transition to a cloud-hosted environment has enhanced reliability, scalability, and access to real-time spatial data across the organization.

This renewal will ensure continued support, maintenance, and hosting services from our GIS provider, allowing us to build on the progress made during the implementation phase and maintain uninterrupted access to this essential tool.

budget

BUDGET IMPACT:

The total contracted amount is $328,000 over a three-year period. The City will be billed approximately $109,300 annually in. Future years’ funding will be contingent upon appropriate allocation made through the budget adoption process.
