PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to renew the agreement with SoundThinking, Inc., for the Wilmington Police Department’s (WPD) ShotSpotter System for FY26.
BACKGROUND:
The WPD first implemented the ShotSpotter system for gunfire locating services in 2011. The system has proven to be a valuable crime fighting tool. Officers have been able to solve crimes more effectively and efficiently due to the ability to identify the location of gunfire.

BUDGET IMPACT:
The amount of $405,116 for this annual renewal is included in the FY26 budget.
