Attachment #1: Resolution

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this resolution is to execute a three-year contract with ePlus Technology, inc. (“ePlus”) to renew the City’s use of Varonis Cybersecurity Software.

BACKGROUND:

In 2022, the City purchased Varonis Cybersecurity software. This software is essential to maintaining the City’s cybersecurity posture, protecting sensitive data, and mitigating cybersecurity risks. Over the past three years, the IT Department has successfully configured and operated the system and would like to continue using the software. The City intends to enter into a three-year agreement with ePlus to maintain access to the Varonis Cybersecurity platform.

This contract will be procured pursuant to N.C.G.S. §143-129(e)(7), which allows exceptions for competitive bid requirements for certain IT services.

BUDGET IMPACT:

Funding for the first year of the contract in the amount of $170,114.75 will come from the IT Department’s budget and was included in the FY26 adopted budget. Subsequent fiscal years will be contingent upon annual appropriation through the City's budget ordinance
