PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to amend the membership of the Downtown Municipal Services District (“MSD”) Advisory Committee to reflect a change from one of the MSD resident positions to an “At Large” position.
BACKGROUND:
On April 1, 2025, City Council passed a resolution, effective July 1, 2025, to reduce the number of MSD board members from fourteen (14) members to nine (9) and revised the membership requirements. Due to the challenges of filling certain board positions, Council’s Appointments Committee has since directed staff to revise the membership of the MSD Advisory Committee to replace the position for one MSD resident with a position for an “At Large” member.
In order to serve on the MSD Advisory Committee, the “At Large” member would need to qualify under one of the other qualifying membership categories (MSD resident, business owner, etc.). This requirement will ensure the At Large member continues to have a vested interest in the MSD.
