PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the City Manager to apply for a grant from the Department of Justice Bulletproof Vest Partnership in the amount of $125,621 to purchase seventy-five (75) bulletproof vests as part of the anticipated FY 27 Annual Budget.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Wilmington is eligible to apply for a grant from the Bulletproof Vest Partnership. This funding is available to assist law enforcement agencies with the purchase of protective vests to improve officer safety. Funding will be used to purchase seventy-five (75) protective vests for the Wilmington Police Department.

BUDGET IMPACT:
If awarded in FY27, a fifty (50%) local match of $62,811 will be included in the FY 27 Annual Budget and is available in the Account 10040310-532012.
