PURPOSE: 

This resolution is asking to change the meeting date of the May 5, 2026, City Council meeting to May 4, 2026, due to a conflict with the North Carolina League of Municipalities (“NCLM”) CityVision Conference in Raleigh, NC.

 

BACKGROUND:   

In December 2025, City Council voted to approve the resolution establishing the 2026 Council Meeting schedule, including a regularly scheduled meeting on May 5, 2026.  Due to a conflict with the NCLM CityVision Conference, which takes place May 5th - 7th, and which will be attended by a majority of Council members, a change to the regular meeting schedule is necessary.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is recommended to amend the schedule of 2026 City Council meetings from May 5, 2026, to May 4, 2026, in order to avoid a conflict with the NCLM CityVision Conference.
