PURPOSE:

The Purpose of this resolution is to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract amendment in the amount of $1,860,000 with NU-Pipe, LLC (“NU-Pipe”) for the Annual Needs Stormwater Infrastructure repairs and rehabilitation contract.

BACKGROUND:

The contract primarily focuses on in-situ pipe rehabilitation work, which typically prevents significant road closures, and is performed in a shorter time frame than either point repairs or full replacement of drainage pipe. The Transportation Department has identified proposed storm drainage pipe rehabilitation locations across the City, prioritized based on stormwater infrastructure need (pipe condition) and alignment and coordination with other City infrastructure projects.

Execution of this contract amendment will allow for this important storm drainage rehabilitation work to continue at the following locations:

•                     Ringo Dr.

•                     E. Lakeshore Dr. (AECOM bridge/culvert assessment)

•                     Columbia Ave.

•                     Masonboro Loop Rd. and Beasley Rd.

•                     N. Colony Cir.

•                     Market St. and Service Rd.
