PURPOSE:
Attached for your consideration is a resolution authorizing the official acceptance of right-of-way improvements for ownership, operation, and maintenance by the City.
BACKGROUND:
The projects proposed for acceptance are described below and shown in attached Exhibits A and B. Site photos for each location are also attached.
Cando Street was approved as part of the Stokely Center project in 2005 and built in 2006. The street was constructed in accordance with the approved plans. However, the asphalt and pavement markings need maintenance. The developer has agreed to pay $12,010.50 for these improvements. If the acceptance is approved, the road will be added to the annual pavement preservation maintenance contract. That payment has been received and is in escrow until City Council action. The portion of Cando Street proposed for acceptance is identified in attached Exhibit A
Cronely Alley was previously listed as an unimproved alley on the City Powell Bill maps. A portion of this alley was constructed in early 2023 by Dealey Properties, Inc., to serve proposed residences at 710 and 714 Cronely Alley, as required by City Code. The right-of-way proposed for acceptance at Cronely Alley is identified in attached Exhibit B.
Section 18-596.A of the City Code makes provisions for City Council to approve these additions to the City’s infrastructure system upon recommendation by the City Manager.
