LEGISLATIVE INTENT/PURPOSE:
WHEREAS, with the adoption of the FY25 Fleet Replacement Budget, Wilmington City Council authorized the purchase/replacement of woodchippers; and,
WHEREAS, N.C.G.S. §143-129(e)(3) provides an exception to the procedures for the letting of public contracts for purchases made through a competitive bidding group acquisition program, which is a formally organized program that offers competitively obtained purchasing services at discount prices; and,
WHEREAS, Sourcewell conducted a full and open competitive solicitation for this equipment, and awarded the contract to ACT Construction Service LLC, of Charlotte, NC, in the amount of $148,631.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase and execute any necessary contracts to replace two (2) woodchippers from ACT Construction Services LLC, of Charlotte, NC, for $148,631.
