PURPOSE: 

The purpose of this resolution is to authorize an interlocal agreement (“ILA”) with the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (“CFPUA”) for cost recovery related to the Pirate Cove Drainage Improvement Project (“Project”).

 

BACKGROUND:   

The City plans to begin construction on the Project, which includes relocating water and sewer line facilities that conflict with storm drainage pipes, and CFPUA will reimburse the costs of the relocation. The direct costs for the water and sewer line relocation within the City's rights-of-way shall not exceed $257,582 (which includes 10% contingency) without further authorization from CFPUA.

BUDGET IMPACT:  

CFPUA will reimburse the City for direct costs of water and sewer line relocation not to exceed $257,582. City funds are available in the Stormwater Capital Projects fund for the Project.
