PURPOSE

The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract amendment in the amount of $1,500,000 with JYMCO Construction Company, Inc. of Smithfield, NC (“JYMCO”), for the Annual Needs Sidewalk Maintenance Contract. 

 

BACKGROUND:   

Sidewalk rehabilitation work under this contract will replace or install new ADA compliant ramps on recently resurfaced streets, as well as replace areas of broken or displaced sidewalks. The original contract was executed on March 8, 2025, with a 12-month duration, and includes provisions to extend the term of the contract for up to two additional one-year periods. The first contract extension was executed on March 8, 2026 (see attached Contract Amendment Summary).

Funding for this contract is available in the Sidewalk Rehab Capital Project.
