PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to renew the Interlocal Agreement with New Hanover County for the operation of the Forensic Lab.
BACKGROUND:
The City has been in an Interlocal Agreement with New Hanover County for the operation of the forensic lab since 2019. The City’s responsibility under the Interlocal Agreement equals 40% of the operational expenses, with the County’s portion being 60% of those same expenses, and both the City and the County must agree on any significant improvements or expansions to the lab prior to those costs being included in the shared operating costs.

BUDGET IMPACT:
The contract amount shall not exceed $324,085 in FY27 and is contingent on approval of the FY27 annual budget.
