PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to renew the Interlocal Agreement with the Wilmington Housing Authority (“WHA”) to provide three (3) WPD officers for dedicated police service.
BACKGROUND:
The City and WHA recognize that certain Wilmington Housing Authority developments need additional police services to maintain the safety of their occupants, as well as to further the public interest and advance general public safety. This resolution authorizes an Interlocal Agreement (“ILA”) to dedicate three (3) WPD officers to those services.

BUDGET IMPACT:
WHA will reimburse the City a sum not to exceed $158,000 to help cover the costs associated with 3 officers. This revenue was included with the FY27 budget submission, contingent upon approval of the FY27 annual budget.
