PURPOSE:
Attached for your consideration is a resolution authorizing the official acceptance of right-of-way and easement improvements for ownership, operation, and maintenance within William Booth Drive by the City.
BACKGROUND:
All improvements were constructed in 2025 by The Salvation Army as part of the Salvation Army Corps Community Center and Center of Hope project. The roadways and easements proposed for acceptance are identified in Exhibit ‘A,’ attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. Photos of the completed roadway are also included.
The City entered into a roadway improvement agreement with the Salvation Army to provide reimbursement for the construction costs associated with the roadway, as authorized by City Council resolution on 11/1/2022. Dedication and official acceptance of this roadway is a milestone in that reimbursement contract. The 0.45 miles of streets offered for acceptance have been constructed substantially to City standards and are eligible for Powell Bill street aid.
Section 18-596.A of the City Code makes provisions for the City Council to approve these additions to the City’s infrastructure system, upon recommendation by the City Manager.
