PURPOSE:
The purpose of this ordinance is to bring Chapter 1 of the Wilmington City Code (“Code”) up to date and to ensure that it is legally consistent with state and federal laws, as well as other Code provisions
BACKGROUND:
Periodic review of the Code is necessary to ensure the information contained within the Code is accurate and up to date. The City Attorney’s Office is presently engaged in a systematic revision of the entire current Code. This review is designated to identify, amend, and/or repeal obsolete or unlawful provisions, harmonize the Code with prevailing state and federal mandates, and rectify all identified scrivener’s errors.
